WEF webinar: Community Service Programs at Water and Wastewater Utilities
March 01, 2018
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM (Eastern Time)

Please join U.S. EPA, NACWA, and WEF on March 1st for an important webinar highlighting the community service programs in two communities: Alexandria, Virginia and Louisville, Kentucky.

The essential services provided by drinking water and wastewater utilities bring public health and economic benefits to local communities. Innovative workforce support and development strategies that focus on low-income, high-risk, or capacity-limited communities can bring numerous benefits to utilities and the communities that are directly affected by utility operations.

Utility practices and programs that focus on people who live in these communities are not simply a matter of social justice. They also help utility leaders address challenges associated with an aging utility workforce, help to make capacity-limited communities more attractive for economic development, and enhance opportunities for meaningful work in the water sector community.

Speakers:
Lisa Van Riper, Director, Enterprise Communications, Alexandria Renew Enterprises
Tony Parrott, Executive Director, Louisville Metropolitan Sewer District
