To raise awareness and dollars to help WFP bring safe drinking water and sustainable sanitation improvements to under served people, we added a new event to the two-person Ops Challenge last year and it was a great success. WFP and Ops Challenge will do an encore performance at the 2009 Boise Conference.

Perfect your latrine building skills and have LOTS of fun. Can you build a latrine in under 5 minutes?

Form your team and start raising the “entry fee” so you can compete in this real world challenge – speed assembly of a replica latrine modeled after the types build and used by communities worldwide in conjunction with WFP basic health and sanitation education programs.

1. It only takes 2 people to form a team. Everyone eligible to compete - operators, engineers, consultants, vendors, managers, everyone! Compete in all events or just the Latrine Challenge.
2. Co-workers, friends and family support their team with donations to Water for People. Give your team a clever name to help with fundraising.
3. Teams compete on Sunday (9/21) to assemble a latrine “kit” using simple tools, brains and brawn. (Don’t worry, you don’t have to harvest the palm fronds for the roof!)

Teams can register using the form in the conference registration package or on line at pncwa.org.

Prizes will be awarded for:
• Best Time
• Most Cash Donated
• Most Clever Team Name/Identity
