Pacific Northwest Clean Water Association (PNCWA) is a Member Association of the Water Environment Federation (WEF), the non-profit technical and educational organization for water environment professionals active in 39 countries.

Membership: Our membership includes environmental, civil and chemical engineers, educators, biologists, chemists, government officials, treatment plant managers and operators, laboratory analysts, equipment manufacturers and distributors, and students and young professionals involved in wastewater collection and treatment, stormwater management, and related fields.

Purpose: PNCWA is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the water quality in the states of Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. We promote the professional and technical development of our members, educate the public about the water environment and advance science to protect water resources.

Organization: Four Regions form the link between the local Sections and the PNCWA Board of Directors. The Regions are Idaho, Oregon, Eastern Washington, and Western Washington. Each Region elects a Regional Director who serves on the PNCWA Board of Directors.

Independent local PNCWA sponsored Sections are active in the four regions, providing training and networking to meet the needs and interests of the area.

• • Membership in a local Section need not be restricted to those who are members of the Association.
  • Any Water and Wastewater professional or interested individual can join a local section without becoming a member of PNCWA.
  • Section officers are expected to be WEF/PNCWA  members.
  • Sections usually require and collect Section dues.
  • Since local Section membership does not in itself constitute membership in PNCWA or WEF, Sections should communicate that in order to receive PNCWA benefits such as discounted registration at the PNCWA annual conference, they must also pay PNCWA or WEF dues!
