Hello everyone, and welcome to the PNCWA Stormwater Committee!
We are a group of water professionals who are enthusiastic about the future of stormwater design, technology, planning, and permitting. The Stormwater Committee develops programs to promote the overall understanding of stormwater management strategies, including those related to design, operation, maintenance, and management practices across the Pacific Northwest.
We are always looking for new members interested in networking with other stormwater professionals. The committee is a collaborative organization designed to promote effective information sharing and develop learning content to inspire other stormwater professionals. During the 2022 PNCWA conference, we partnered with Water for People and the Racial and Social Justice Subcommittee to host a cleanup event along the bank of the Spokane River. We plan to continue to share and develop technical blog posts, professional presentations, and service events in the upcoming year.
The Stormwater Committee’s 2023 goals and initiatives include these:
- Expand diversity (geographically, organizationally, gender, age, and ethnicity) of committee
- Expand external communications and learning opportunities
- Contribute to the 2023 conference:
- Develop a stormwater focused conference event
- Promote abstract submissions for stormwater conference track
- Promote nominations for project and professional awards
- Expand learning opportunities to include lunch presentations (Stormwater Learning Hour)
- Expand communications with website updates and digital digest blogs
- Provide gathering opportunities
We hold monthly meetings via Microsoft Teams on the second Thursday of each month from 9 – 10 a.m. PST.
If you are interested in joining the committee, please reach out to our chair, Josh Van Wie, at [email protected] or our vice chair, Shannon Kronz, at [email protected].
