Vaughan Dedication and Commitment to Water/Wastewater Commitment Scholarship

The Vaughan Family feels there is a profound importance to support people who want to pursue or further their education in the water environment. The family believes every aspect of this industry is as vital as the next; this is due to the Vaughan Company’s commitment to the sustainability and future of the Pacific Northwest and the world at large. The Vaughan Family is excited to offer this scholarship opportunity to individuals committed to furthering the future of our water and wastewater environment. This scholarship is available for applicants intending to pursue a career in the water environment field.
One scholarship will generally be awarded, normally valued at $1,500, with emphasis on Professional Certification (1-year program) and 2-year or 4-year degrees or enrollment in a Masters program.

Vaughan Dedication and Commitment to Water/Wastewater Commitment Scholarship Requirements

  • State Residence – Either Idaho, Oregon, or Washington
  • Eligible student level in school – Current (or accepted) college students are eligible. High school seniors who will be graduating are eligible with proof of acceptance in a qualifying program for the fall. The applicant must enroll as a full-time college student (by September of the award year) that allows the applicant to pursue a career in the water environment field.
  • School attending – School location anywhere in the US.
  • Type of school attending – The applicant may be attending or accepted to enroll in either a 1-year, 2-year or a 4-year college and be pursuing either Professional Certification, Associates, Bachelors, and/or Masters degrees (If you are a high school senior who had not yet been accepted at a program, you must provide the names of the programs to which you have applied.)
  • Official proof or transcript of grades from high school or college.
  • Essay on career goals related to the water environment.
  • A minimum of two letters of recommendation—At least one letter must be from a teacher or professor. Letters must be from someone not related to the applicant.
  • Extracurricular activities – Examples of extracurricular activities are requested.
  • Previous Experience – Water/Wastewater experience helpful but not required.

  • For applicants who are prior PNCWA scholarship recipients, an additional Award Renewal essay is required.
